Technical requirements
We are a five-piece band and need adequate stage space to hold our
members (percussion, bass/guitar/flute, guitar, guitar/vocals,
trumpet/trombone/flugelhorn/percussion). Our preference for
micing/inputs is:
- Andrea: SM58 or better for lead vocals
- Don: For the basses and his acoustic guitar, there is a
balanced XLR output from his direct box that can be run
direct. He'll have a small amp on stage. Also an SM58 or better mic for
backing vocals/flute.
- George: SM57 or better to mic his amp for electric guitar, direct in
(XLR or 1/4") for acoustic guitar. SM58 or better for backing vocals.
- Joel: A pair of small diaphragm condenser mics on boom
stands suspended over the percussion area
- Paul: SM57 or better for horns/backing vocals/percussion. Be
aware of radically different input levels with horn being very
loud and percussion needing a lot of boost
If you are unable to supply all requested microphones, please let
us know so that we can bring our own equipment.
For smaller venues, we can get by with 2-4 vocal mics and on-stage
amplification.
